  1.                 Personal Ticker Tape Release Notes

  3. 01/05/92        PTT 1.14
  4. Before running PTT 1.14 for the first time, do the following 
  5.         1) Delete PTTSYM.*  (if it exists)
  6.         2) Go to PTT/SETUP/UPDATE OPTIONS and specify
  7.            a)  "Maximum Number of Ticker Symbols" appropriately for
  8.                 your system
  9.            b)  Rebuild Symbol Index = Y
  10. Hit F1 on each new field if you have questions. Also, if you are upgrading
  11. from a prior release, read the notes below if applicable.

  13. 12/29/92        PTT 1.12
  14. This version of PTT implements a new search technique for maintaining
  15. the index and summary files. The new file names for these summaries are
  16. PTTSYM.IX and PTTSYM.DB. The first time you run PTT, it will have to 
  17. rebuild these tables. You can remove your old PTTSYM1.IX and PTTSYM1.DB
  18. files, since they will no longer be used.

  20. You will need to go to the MODEM SETUP panel to enter any MODEM 
  21. INITIALIZATION commands that were in your Compuserve or GEnie Network
  22. Setup screens.  This version of PTT has NO built in MODEM INITIALIZATION
  23. commands, so if you need any for your modem, you will need to put them
  24. into the MODEM SETUP panel. Please use the F1 Help Key to get item
  25. specific help whenever you need it.

  27. There is a new file created by PTT, "PTT.LOG", which contains the 
  28. status, error messages, and optional stock split notifications encountered
  29. when running PTT update or report.

  32. If you have a non-downloading version of PTT prior to PTT 1.09, you
  33. will need to obtain a new registration code for PTT 1.09 or later.
  34. This code will allow you to obtain the & symbols from PRODIGY. You can 
  35. obtain the new registration code from the FlexSoft BBS for a $10 charge
  36. if paying by credit card. 
  37. Alternatively, you can mail $10 to FlexSoft for the new code.

  39. You can tell which version of the registration code you have by looking 
  40. at the registration line on the PTT main screen. 
  41. The explanation of the levels shown on the Main Screen are:
  42.  
  43. Level 0 
  44. means you are using PTT with a PML registration code, or you
  45. ordered PTT prior to version 1.09. If you do not want to use the PRODIGY
  46. & symbols, you can continue to use this code for PTT. Otherwise, you will
  47. need to obtain a Level 1 registration code.

  49. Level 1 
  50. is the new registration code for PTT without the DownLoad
  51. feature.
  52.  
  53. Level 2 
  54. is the full Download registration code with all features
  55. enabled.

  58. If you are a PML user, and this is your first time using PTT
  59. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60. If you are registered for Professional Maintenance Loader (PML), follow
  61. the installation procedure for PTT, then copy your PML.CNF file to the
  62. \PTT subdirectory, renaming it PTT.CNF. This will preserve your current
  63. REGISTRATION CODE and allow you to use PTT for the same functions as
  64. PML.

  66. After you do this, you will still need to re-enter your Metastock or
  67. MegaTech directory names.
